Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that enables its users to send and read messages known as tweets. Tweets are text-based posts of up to 140 characters displayed on the author's profile page and delivered to the author's subscribers who are known as followers. Senders can restrict delivery to those in their circle of friends or, by default, allow open access. Users can send and receive tweets via the Twitter website, Short Message Service (SMS) or external applications. While the service costs nothing to use, accessing it through SMS may incur phone service provider fees.
Since its creation in 2006 by Jack Dorsey, Twitter has gained notability and popularity worldwide. It is sometimes described as the "SMS of the Internet"[3] since the use of Twitter's application programming interface for sending and receiving short text messages by other applications often eclipses the direct use of Twitter.
Twitter is ranked as one of the 50 most popular websites worldwide by Alexa's web traffic analysis.[4] Although estimates of the number of daily users vary because the company does not release the number of active accounts, a February 2009 Compete.com blog entry ranked Twitter as the third most used social network[5] based on their count of 6 million unique monthly visitors and 55 million monthly visits.[5] In March 2009, a Nielsen.com blog ranked Twitter as the fastest-growing site in the Member Communities category for February 2009. Twitter had a monthly growth of 1,382 percent, Zimbio of 240 percent, followed by Facebook with an increase of 228 percent.[6] However, only 40 percent of Twitter's users are retained.[7]

Twitter For Nokia E71 and E71x
Twitter is an amazing way to communicate, and if you ever wondered how to mobilize and get twitter on your Nokia E71, I just discovered a great way to do that. But first of all I want to briefly explain what Twitter is, if you already know you can get straight to the second parragraph. Twitter is a web service that lets you follow other people so you know what they are doing or thinking. Twitter is sharing in 140 characters what you are thinking or doing with the people who are following you, but the interesting part is the other way around, you can follow people and know what they are doing. I really dont like online social communities, in fact I dont even have a Facebook, but Twitter is just different. It is comfortable, easy and fun to use and it can get pretty addictive too! So now that you know what Twitter is lets get to the important point, how to get it on your Nokia E71 which is a device perfectly designed for Twitter although it was not mean to.
With an application called ”Gravity” made by some pretty smart developers, you can get the full experience of Twitter in your mobile device. Unlike other Twitter apps, Gravity was actually designed for S60 devices, you can tweet, reply, DM, follow & unfollow, create favourites, search, auto-update and many more. You actually have plenty of features, but the best part is that the UI looks amazingly good. It is definitively a must have application and more if you have an E71 that has a full QWERTY keyboard and therefore is perfect for ”Twittering”. You can get Gravity here: http://mobileways.de/products/gravity/gravity/

Increase your Bandwidth by 20%
Windows uses 20% of your bandwidth! Get it back
A nice little tweak for XP. M*crosoft reserve 20% of your available bandwidth for their own purposes (suspect for updates and interrogating your machine etc..)
Here's how to get it back:
1. Click Start-->Run-->type "gpedit.msc" without the "
2. This opens the group policy editor. Then go to:
3. Local Computer Policy-->Computer Configuration-->Administrative
Templates-->Network-->QOS Packet Scheduler-->Limit Reservable Bandwidth
4. Double click on Limit Reservable bandwidth. It will say it is not configured,
but the truth is under the 'Explain' tab :
5. "By default, the Packet Scheduler limits the system to 20 percent of
the bandwidth of a connection, but you can use this setting
to override the default."
6. So the trick is to ENABLE reservable bandwidth, then set it to ZERO.
This will allow the system to reserve nothing, rather than the default 20%.
